It may have been an opening game hangover, but the Desperados came out flat in the opening half of their game Wednesday night vs the Mauraders. But even with the slow start, they only found themselves down 7-6 at half time, thanks to a late goal line stand and an interception by Dominic at the 1 yard line on the last play of the half. The second half did not start any better with the Mauraders stripping a Desperado receiver of the ball and returning it for a touchdown to take the lead 13-6. The Desp's had to quickly re-group and settle down or the game was going to get away from them. With time ticking down in the 3rd quarter, Deaglen ran the ball down the left side of the field for his second touchdown of the game to bring the Desperados within one. The extra point was successful and the game was tied. It was now up to the defence to stop the big and fast Mauraders. After giving up a first down, the Desps made a stand and set the Mauraders back with two huge sacks forcing them to turn the ball over on downs. The Desperados were making a drive getting down to the 25 yard line when time expired and the game ending in a 13-13 tie.
Next game is Monday June 6th vs the Bandits.
